Update from the frontiers

So Marianne, and her friends Michaela and Rebecca, and Jonathan, are all in the dining room eating their tea (salmon, potatoes, salad; very kid friendly food) while I cower in the study. The girls are having a detailed conversation about the way that different foods affect their poo, occasionally breaking off to explain the finer points of table manners to Jonathan, who is sensibly ignoring them and eating his mashed potato with his fingers.

What do you mean by "salad"? I've never known a kid that liked lettuce.
